Whom shall I fear?

Today was Bible study day.  We were studying different aspects of Salvation.  The Who, What, When, Where, and Why of Salvation.  It is so refreshing to share the word and get the perspective of others on what God’s word says to them and how He shows His love and grace continually.

One of our passages was Psalm 27.

PSALM 27:1 AMPLIFIED BIBLE

THE LORD IS MY LIGHT AND MY SALVATION—WHOM SHALL I FEAR OR DREAD? THE LORD IS THE REFUGE AND STRONGHOLD OF MY LIFE—OF WHOM SHALL I BE AFRAID?

This scripture (and other similar ones) are some that I go back to over and over again.  There are times when we are afraid, when the enemy seems to be all around us and too powerful but this reminds us that we should not be afraid.  The Lord is our Light, our Salvation, our Refuge and Stronghold.  Farther in this Psalm it reminds us that the Lord is our refuge and shelter against our enemies, against storms of life, against anything that comes against us.  Whom shall we fear?

Psalm 27:14 Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord.
