If you want to boost your faith I suggest that you read about people of great faith. I am currently reading a book called “God’s Generals: The Healing Evangelists” by Roberts Liardon. It is wonderful. This book is part of an 8 book series that gives fairly brief biographies about different people of faith. I want to read them all. The things that the Lord did through them is just amazing and so inspiring. It makes we want to really get out there and do whatever it is God has for me. Another of my favorite books is “The Hiding Place” by Corrie Ten Boom, actually she wrote several books and I read them all.
Read about men of faith in the Bible and keep in mind that they were all just men (and women) like us. The difference with these people of faith is that they put their faith and trust completely (most of the time) in God and allowed Him to use them.
Just think what a change it would make in our country if all believers started doing this. WOW! If you don’t like to read or don’t have much time get books on CD or download them, or find good videos about these people’s lives. I just watched a really good DVD about Aimee Semple McPherson made by PBS.* Find a way to boost you faith. Feed your faith daily. You won’t regret it.
Romans 10:17 (NKJV) So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Hebrews 12:1-3 (NIV) Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
