Renew your mind

Just to let you know this message is one I need today.

Some days just don’t go well.  You make it through but then the next day you just don’t want to face things.  What can you do about this?  Well, you could call in sick and go back to bed.  You could go to work but avoid everyone all day.  You could also take it out on family and co-workers.

No.  Don’t do any of those things.

Renew your mind.  Get into God’s Word.  Encourage yourself.  Maybe you messed up, repent and make it right if you can, if  you can’t change things repent and ask the Lord to help you do better.  Don’t listen to the negative voices in your head, find what God says about you in the Word and claim it, say it out loud.  Make it personal.

Romans 12:2 (NIV)  Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Ephesians 4:23 (AMP) And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude]

Changing attitude and outlook is not an easy thing but we can do it.  You have to choose to look at things through God’s eyes (the Word) and not circumstances or how you feel.  God’s Word trumps feelings.  If you have to write down the scriptures you find to encourage yourself (Yes, you can do that, we don’t always have to wait for someone else to encourage us this is part of being a mature believer so just do it!) Read the Word throughout the day, if necessary read it aloud.  Do what it takes to get your focus back on the Word and off of the circumstances or your feelings.

Philippians 4:6-7  (NKJV) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Have a GREAT day!  God loves us!
