Being Prepared

1 Corinthians 1:27  (NLT) God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.

Do you ever feel unprepared for the things you need to do in life, the situations you find yourself in, tasks you are given, relationship struggles and losses, commitments,  assignments or anything else?  I think we all feel unprepared from time to time and this time of year is especially bad for many people.  For some it may be having too much to do, for others it is feeling out of touch with others and all that is going on, and it can even be not having enough to do.

We all have different struggles and challenges in life.

We have good news though,

God is PREPARED FOR ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING!

The Lord is never overwhelmed, always has what we need and even prepares us for what is ahead.  We may not realize it as we are going through things but He has prepared us and has what we need. Even when we feel unprepared we just need to turn to Him and ask for His help, He is just waiting for us to do this.  Just as Jesus prayed for Peter before Peter denied Him, Jesus prayed for us His children:

Luke 22:32 (NKJV) But I have prayed for you (Peter), that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”

Jesus also prayed for those who would believe in Him in the future.

John 17:20 (NLT) I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message.

We aren’t without responsibility in these things, we still have to do our part but we  need to ask the Lord what He wants us to do and how He wants us to do the tasks we have.  Depending on your situation you may need to get organized, ask for help, say no, reach out to someone else in need, encourage someone, let go of past hurts, do what the Lord instructs you.

You probably won’t “hear” a voice instructing you but check your spirit (that gut feeling) if you pay attention to those gentle nudges the Holy Spirit gives you will find much of the pressure will ease.

Remember:

1 Peter 5:6-7 (AMP) 6 Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you,7 Casting the whole of your care all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, (once and for all) on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.

1 Peter 5:6-7 (NKJV) 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Now, take a deep breath and RELAX!  When we try to do it all by ourselves we are not trusting God to take care of us.  Isn’t it great to know that He cares FOR you?
